Indian Republic Day is around the corner so I thought I would do something different and show some unconventional ways in which you can get inspired! I have lost my crafting mojo for a while now and I found it a bit difficult to create some projects for today’s post. I couldn’t come up with any ideas so I just looked around me – advertisements, posters etc.. and then it struck me! I could just use the flag as my inspiration! I used the color palette – orange, white, green and blue – and the layout – three sections and a circle – to help me design these two simple cards. Here is how I made them:
- My first card is pretty simple. I simply stamped various elements of the Fancy Flourish in the corners of the card base using Tangerine Orange and Green dye ink. I then ink blended the corners using the same ink and stamped a sentiment from the Doodled Spring florals in Blue ink. I used linen cardstock for the base so I got a distressed look for the flourishes which I liked!
- My second card is a bit more complex. I stamped the flourishes just like the first card. But I didn’t ink blend the corner. I die cut two circles and stamped Mudra’s Magnolia in the center. I colored the flower using alcohol markers and colored pencils. Finally, I added a sentiment and finished it off!
That’s it folks! If you have found inspiration on other weird ways, be sure to comment below!
