Home Challenge Auspicious “Shubh-Labh” to make your home entrance vibrant

Auspicious “Shubh-Labh” to make your home entrance vibrant

by Zalak Mandal

Hello Everyone,

I am Zalak A Mandal from TheCarShopStudio wishes you and your family “Happy Diwali”. So today I have a very simple and elegant project for you all, which I have made to decorate my home entrance.

The project is about “Shubh-Labh” (The literal meanings of the names give you a sense of upliftment. Shubh means goodness and Labh means benefit. This is so auspicious that you will see this along with Swastik symbol at the entrance to all houses/offices in India.)

So, Let’s start

I started with MDF decorative cutout as a base and primed with white gesso. Once the base coat is dried, I have painted it with gold acrylic color. I repeat the process at least 3-4 times to look the color more brighter.

Once the base paint is dried, I used “Quatrefoil Pattern” stencil and secure it with masking tape so that when I apply top coat, It won’t move. Then I started dabbing “Crimson Red” color over the stencil.

Then I have applied a coat of a varnish and sprinkled “Dimond Dust”, I kept all 4 pieces aside and started painting hindi letters which is “Shubh-Labh”.  Once the diamond dust is dried, I adhered letters and tassel with hot glue.

I hope I have inspired you today with this simple and elegant piece. Don’t forget to enter in our this month challenge. Create and win exciting prizes from Mudra. Here you can find all the details of our Craft Challenge #37
