Hi Guys,
This is Swati Gupta here and today I have a tutorial on how to use pattern papers to make simple backgrounds for your cards. We’ll also be using a stencil on one of the pattern paper for creating a beautiful background.
I am using the latest released stamp set from the Mudra stamp collection.
Card 1:
We will be using Watercolors as our painting medium on this card.
Tip: If you do not have watercolors you can use Mudra Dye ink pads as a substitute. Just squeeze out some ink on a laminated surface by pressing the ink pad on it and pick the ink with a watercolor brush. It would work just perfectly.
Steps:
- Make a card base using white cardstock of size 5 3/4″*4 1/4.
- Using a bokeh effect pattern paper from Mudra paper – Beary Hugs 12×12 create a card front that is slightly smaller than the card base.
- Using Mudra Stamps – Happy Monsoon stamp the raindrops using some versamark ink and heat emboss using blue embossing powder. Fill these drops with a blue color Nuvo drop.
- On a watercolour paper, stamp the frog couple image using some waterproof ink and color it using some watercolors.
- Fussy cut the whole image and stick on the cardfront using a foam tape.
- Stamp the sentiment on another white cardstock sheet and fussy cut it.
- Glue the sentiment and the card front on the card base and our card is ready.
- You can embellish the card more with Nuvo drops or sequins.
Card 2:
- Make a card base using white cardstock of size 4 1/2″*3 1/2.
- Using a bokeh effect pattern paper from Mudra paper – Beary Hugs 12×12 create a card front that is slightly smaller than the card base.
- Using Mudra Stencil – Dot Paint Circles 6×6 and ink blending technique, make a gradient background of the spiral image.
- I have used Liliac and Cornflower Blue MAI dye ink pads.
- I have inked the flower chipboard from Mudra-Designer-Chipboard-Diwali-Embellishments in black color and pasted it in the centre of the ink blended spiral.
- Then using the sentiment Happy Diwali form the stamp set Mudra Stamps -Diwali-Sentiments- 2020 I have stamped it in black color.
- Stick the card front to the cardbase and its done. 🙂
I hope you liked the cards.
