Decorating Handmade Envelopes | Customised Ribbon

by Swati Gupta

Hi Guys,

This is Swati Gupta here and today I have a very useful tutorial for you all.

We’ll be discussing how to embellish and decorate your envelopes and also how to create custom ribbons.

Let’s talk about creating your own custom ribbons:

Mudra has a White Dyeable Ribbon which can be custom designed. You can Spray, Ink or color it with any dye or water-based medium. It can be used for gift wrapping, craft projects, and more! I am stamping on it using some waterproof ink. |I have used the ‘Peeping bunny’ and ‘Basic planner’ stamp set to stamp on it and here I have my own custom ribbon.

First Envelope:

For the Envelopes You can use any paper you have, I am using Papers from Mudra paper – Beary Hugs 12×12. I have used an Envelope Punch board to create 2 envelopes of different sizes. You can create envelopes of any size or even use the Pre-made envelopes of Mudra.

Let’s start with our first envelope that has brown stripes.

I have used an embossing pen and heat embossed Copper Embossing powder on only the brown strips of the envelope flap. You can see in the image below.

Now using the ‘Mail Delight’ stamp set I stamped the stamp border using a black color ink pad on one of the Beary Hugs 12×12 cardstock(Bokey effect). Then I stamped Hugs Enclosed sentiment inside it and Fussy cut the whole image. You can create many more like this and handwrite on them. I glued the stamp to the upper right corner of the envelope front.

Using Mai Dye Inkpad – Fuchsia Pink, I blended in the center of the envelope a very light layer of color. Then I stamped some hearts using the same ink pad and the ‘Floral Love’ stamp set.

I also stamped the Sentiment ‘Happiness Enclosed’ from the ‘Mail Delight’ stamp set.

I also Used the custom Ribbon I made and Tied a Bow on the front of the envelope.

Our first envelop[e is ready now.

Second Envelope:

I used a heart pattern paper from the Mudra paper – Beary Hugs 12×12 and created a big envelope.

Using a hearts stamp from the ‘Floral Love’ stamp set I stamped a few hearts in the center of the hearts on the paper.

I used Fuchsia Pink and Ruby Red ink pad colors for the same.

I also used Sky Blue ink pad to create a small ink layer in the center of the envelope.

I then fussy cut a Bear image from the Beary Hugs 12×12 elements sheet and pasted it in the center.

Using ‘Happy Birthday’ stamp I stamped the sentiment with Black ink. I also stamped ‘Made with love’ to the envelope flap.

For the inside of the flap, I stamped a quote from the ‘Quarantine Birthday’ stamp set.

Both our envelopes are ready now.

Supplies used in the projects are listed below:
